Last Minute Spaghetti

IMG_0608.JPG

Sometimes a Gluten Free Momma needs an easy dinner. Spaghetti.

Good evening my Gluten Free friends! One of my favorite meals growing up was Spaghetti. It’s a comfort food. Warm pasta with garlicy tomato sauce, fresh salad and family. This was a staple in our home. Although I love a good homemade, fresh tomato marinara, this jarred classic also holds a special place in my heart.

This is a helpful staple to have stashed at the back of your pantry for a quick meal. When you are an on-the-go Gluten Free parent, you need to have something handy at the back of your cabinet. This is that meal for me. I’m sure most of you know how to make spaghetti, so this is more about knowing what ingredients are safe for you. All of the ones I use are listed and linked below. Enjoy!

Spaghetti (4 servings)

  • 1 Onion, diced

  • 1 tbsp. of olive oil

  • 4 cloves of Garlic (Can you have too much?)

  • 1 Jar of Spaghetti Sauce

  • 1 lb. of ground beef (or not)

  • Salt, Pepper, & Italian seasoning to taste

  • 1 Box of GF spaghetti noodles

  • Parmesan cheese and parsley to garnish**

Directions

Place a pot of water on to boil, salt it generously.

In a medium sauce pan with high sides sauté your diced onion until tender. Add in your ground beef and minced garlic. cook until browned. Drain the grease out. Pour in your jar of sauce into the pot and simmer until the noodles are done. Add salt, pepper and Italian seasoning to taste.

Boil your noodles according to the directions. Serve pasta sauce over the noodles with a side Caesar salad.

**If you leave out the Parmesan Cheese & Caesar Salad, this is Dairy Free

There are many more brands but these are the ones I have personally tired and enjoyed. I also like that you can find them at pretty much any local grocery store.
